Filipe Miguel Moreira Alves (24) has just set up his own NGO in partnership with his friend Pedro Miguel Resendo.  

Inspired by studies that he did in Slovenia and an internship working in Serbia for a small environmental NGO, the dynamic duo want to kick-start grass-roots action on climate change that has social benefits too.

Filipe’s idea is to recycle cooking oil, create second generation Bio-diesel and use it to power municipal vehicles. 

Filipe will launch his project in summer 2008.
