Goals
The curriculum objective is to mentor talented young people who want to be part of the solution to Climate Change through a scholarship of a €21,000 business mentoring programme and a €7,000 monetary grant to launch
their project.
Skills
The College will give students or ‘CCC ambassadors’ the chance to develop the following management skills:
- Leadership skills
- Arctic Trip, tasks leading the group
- Communication skills
- Media training/video reporting
- Presentation skills
- Blog writing
- Business skills
- How to write a business plan
- How to finance the project - get a loan, find financial aids.
- How to manage accounting tasks
- How to develop a marketing strategy and related
communications tools
Knowledge
The mix of lectures and workshops will develop an understanding of the following areas.
- Practical ways to save CO2/GHG emissions at home, work or university
- Understand the science behind CC and in particular what’s happening in the Arctic
- The Social science of behaviour, what motivates people to make change
- How to effectively communicate, inspire others and raise awareness (what are the tactics, e.g. being unique, using humour)
- Gain organisational awareness of an NGO and a business
- Understand the issues involved in sustainable dairy, socially aligned sourcing and low-carbon manufacture
